Microsoft Signature

Microsoft:

Many new PCs come filled with lots of trialware and sample software that slows your computer down—removing all that is a pain, so we do it for you! Every PC the Microsoft Store sells is put on a software diet and performance is tuned to run the best it can.

We call this process Microsoft Signature.

Matt Gemmel:

Mac users, on the other hand, call it every computer we’ve ever bought.

Blue smoothie

I want to improve my health given that my cholesterol is high (255) and I have type diabetes. I've stepped up my exercise (pun intended) and made some adjustments in my diet. No cheese or meats for me for a while. Today, my wife made me a smoothie dinner consisting of some spinach, a lot of blueberries, walnuts, and a banana.

It's pretty good and I think I could have one every morning. It's low glycemic and chock full of vitamins and minerals. Blueberries contain pterostilbene, a compound that is known to lower blood glucose, lipids and cholesterol. At least in laboratory animals.

May 4, 2011 - Dr. Joel Fuhrman

Dr Joel Fuhrman is a noted doctor — he calls himself a Nutritarian — who proscribed eating the typical American diets high in calories but lacking in nutrition. Dr Fuhrman was at Volition Wellness in Skillman, telling us that we need animal protein from our diet and eat more leafy greens, nuts and fruits. Not just a little more but a LOT more. After making me feel bad for eating the occasional burger and hot dog, Dr Fuhrman spent some time signing copies of his book, “Eat to Live”. Since I had the Kindle version of the book, I suggested he sign a screenshot of the book cover on my iPad. It works for me.
