Tomato Pie

Have you ever had a tomato pie? It's a pizza that is mostly sauce, chunky sauce, but the sauce goes on top of the cheese. Some tomato pies, like the one I had today, don't have any cheese. Just sauce. The tomato pie seems to be a Trenton and Philadelphia food. Tomato pie is rare in other parts of New Jersey but around the Trenton area, it's common. This afternoon, Bhavana and I went for another hike in the Somerset County Sourland Mountain Preserve. The hike, a Wildflower Walk, was organised by the Sourland Conservancy Stewards. The hike was led by Jared Rosenbaum of Wild Ridge Plants, LLC. Jared is a naturalist advisor to the Sourland Conservancy’s Sourland Stewards program. Turn's out we had met Jared's wife Rachel Makow. What's the Ideal Room Temperature?

With the weather this week fluctuating between dry and warm and then cold and damp the environmental system inside the office has been stressed. Some of my coworkers feel too hot and so set the thermostat to a temperature reminiscent of winter. For one co-worker that meant anything below 20°C (~68°F). I drove through Princeton earlier this week and saw the beautiful pink flowers near the Princeton Battle Monument on Stockton Road.
