Learning to swim

Shaan and Kiran have taken swim classes at the YMCA in Princeton since July. Shaan was very afraid of the water at first but has progressed quite well.

Kiran initially had no problem going into the water but did NOT like getting her face wet.

He now jumps into the pool's deep end and appears quite comfortable in the water. The instructor uses a cute naming convention for how well the students do. Shaan just graduated from "pike" to "pollywog".

The swim classes have been a confidence booster for both kids. Now Shaan wants to play soccer and is more willing to try new things. Kiran now puts her head under the water.

Summer garden

In June, Shaan, Kiran and I spent quality time planting these jalapeño plants together. It's been an enjoyable activity for us. Surprisingly, Kiran has been eating these peppers this month, and we've noticed something odd - they're not tikka (spicy) as we expected. It's pretty perplexing. There was this one incident where Kiran accidentally picked a hot one, but the rest were mild for some reason. We're baffled as to why only one was spicy while the others aren't living up to the usual jalapeño heat.
