The last time Bhavna and I attended a U2 concert were on 18 March 1992 at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey on the first leg of the Zoo Tour. She was working in New Jersey, and I had just been accepted into graduate school at the University of Michigan. It was our "we're not dating, but I'll miss you" tour.
Tonight’s concert at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey is the seventh leg of the 360° Tour. Almost 20 years later, the band is still fresh and entertaining.
Bhavna wife likes the band. I love them. To me, this is “God’s favourite rock band.” (I don't think this is hyperbole).
Another talented band from New York, Interpol, opened for U2. I used the SoundHound iPhone app to find out what songs they played and of course, bought and downloaded an album instantly.
When the band came out — I’m talking about U2 now — Bono sang to the highest mountains, The Edge reminded me of what guitar heaven must be like, Larry Mullen Jr. and Adam Clayton made me want to be Irish. Yes, “God’s favourite rock band”, indeed.
The venue restricted the use of any "professional”1 camera, so I left my Nikon at home. This photograph was taken with Camera+ for iPhone 4.
