Thanks for the clarification. I will certainly be more careful in the future with where I get my source data.
The CDC does not capture type of diabetes, therefore the widely circulated "estimate" of type 1 constituting less than 10% of all cases of diabetes is not known to be accurate. A more accurate estimate was derived from the SEARCH for diabetes in youth study, which was jointly funded by JDRF and the CDC. Still, one has to wonder if the CDC is really such a reliable government agency when they cannot even quantify the incidence of the major forms of diabetes.
