Breakfast at Thomas Sweet Cafe

Thomas Sweet Cafe

I decided to take my Wednesday morning status meeting WebEx conference from Thomas Sweet Cafe. It's been a long time since I've done that. I had a blueberry scone and a small cappuccino. The cafe offers free Wi-Fi, but the connection is, and bandwidth is not great. However, the connection to the Xfinity hotspot was strong and stable.

Waiting for fries at Diesel & Duke

Diesel & Duke

It was getting late, and we realised that we had no hand dinner. While Kiran and Bhavna went off to find a few more items for her AP project, Shaan and I walked over to Diesel & Duke. It's new to Princeton and located on a section of Nassau Street that seems to be jinxed. In the 18 years, I have lived in the area, about seven restaurants have opened and closed at the same address. I think Diesel & Duke is off to a bad start.

The sidewalk menu advertised a burger using the Impossible Foods vegan burger patty. I am not vegetarian or vegan, but the Impossible Foods vegan burger patty is so tasty that I prefer it over a beef burger. I was disappointed to learn that they had no Impossible Burger in stock. They had not had any in stock for almost a week. The person running the register claimed that Impossible Foods had a contract with Burger King and had sold all their stock. I find that hard to believe.

I was annoyed. I wanted to leave. But Shaan was hungry, and Kiran and Bhavna were expecting fries, so we placed our order and waited.

Waiting for Bubble Tea at the Noodle House & Kung Fu Tea

Noodle House & Kung Fu Tea

Google Maps describes Noodle House & Kung Fu Tea as "compact, relaxed eatery serving pan-Asian food, plus milk teas, slushes, punches & classic teas." It's one of the favourite stops of my (now) adult kids. We had been walking around as snapping photographs for Kiran's school project. It's her last AP high-school project before college in the fall. We were walking from one end of the Princeton University campus to the other and back again finding the building with the architectural features the project required. The stop at Kung Fu Tea gave up a chance to grab a delicious treat and a moment to rest tired feet.
