“openness” not a gauge of “goodness”

Kontra makes the argument that despite selling a closed system Apple is able to outdo incumbents in the smart-phone market. My favourite sentence:

At the end of the day, the success of a product is contingent not upon its ‘openness’ but the degree to which it provides utility and delight to its customers. – ( via CounterNotions )
