Bloodroot Sanguinaria canadensis

An early spring flower - Bloodroot or Sanguinaria canadensis - with showy, large blooms and interesting foliage. Usually found growing on slopes in rich forests, sometimes along Sourlands roadsides near forest. Pollinated by native bees and flies, seeds dispersed by forest ants.
