This week the Adobe Media Player (AMP) debuted. The AMP runs on either Windows or Mac and can display video in 720p and 1080p HD resolutions as well as 240p and 480p.
In terms of functionality, AMP reminds me of the open source Miro video player. The initial AMP install includes a catalog of hit TV shows as well as items from TED. I did not spend too much time poking around but most of the feature set is focused around display/viewing online video content.
