Do not believe in anything ...

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. Skillman winter landscape

I was stuck inside on Monday and again today. My camera was itching to go out and capture the winter landscape around my town of Skillman. I didn't go too far.

I drove along Cherry Valley Road under tree branches heavy with snow and ice. Ice-balls and snow fell onto the car as I drove. I drove up to Great Road (Route 601) and into Skillman Park. I got a few shots there before getting over to Burnt Hill Road and then up to Skillman Road.

I got some shots of the farm fields, now completely covered with snow.

From Skillman Road, I went onto Great Road and pulled over near the high school to get some shots of Selody farm.

Then back onto Skillman Road and then onto Burnt Hill Road toward Route 518.

From 518 I pulled into Mountain View Road where I got some photos of the hay bails. Then back onto Cherry Valley Road toward home.

I stopped to take a photo of the "Blue House" then headed home.
