Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4 WR Review by Tomash (FUJILOVE)

First things first: when I review a piece of equipment (a lens, a camera, a tripod), I really, honestly don’t care so much about all the technical specifications. Naturally, I know what I am using, I know which aperture I need and what angle of view the lens is giving me. But I don’t analyse distortion and aberration differences at various apertures and I don’t zoom my photographs 200% to see if the edge of the wall or the eyebrows are tack sharp. If you are expecting this kind of review, please look for it somewhere else. What counts for me is what character of a photograph this particular lens is giving me and how easy and intuitive it is to use.

I have reviewed both photography and general computer related software and hardware on my website. My reviews are often along the lines of what it is like to use the product. They are rarely about the technical specs. I find those kinds of reviews to be more along the lines of what most people are seeking. The technical specs can be found on the manufacturer's product literature if the reader wants that information.

Tree House Brewing Company's Doubleganger

I am drinking a Doubleganger from Tree House Brewing Company.

I am in Skillman, NJ, drinking Doubleganger by Tree House Brewing Company. Tree House Brewing Company is a Regional Brewery in Charlton, MA. Doubleganger beer style is IPA - Imperial / Double, with an ABV of 8.2% and IBU of 0. I gave Doubleganger a 4.5 on Untappd's 5 point rating system.

Excuse the shitty photoshop job, Angel C.

Brewer's notes

This beer was conceived with the intent to push the concept of Doppelganger to the limit of flavor and intensity. Both the kettle hopping rates and dry hopping rates were increased while keeping the base beer the same. The result is intense, but also surprising in its balance and softness. The mouthfeel is viscous and coating with flavors of overripe mango, dank citrus, and tropical fruit balanced by a sharp but pleasant finish. A treat to warm you up as a true New England winter takes hold!

Tree House Brewing Company brews a vast array of ales. The offerings vary based on the season, our moods, and innovations discovered in the midst of day in and day out brewing. Our artisan brewery knows no bounds and we are driven by an intense curiosity of ingredients and how they blend together to create something special.

Brewer's notes

Bright w/ Galaxy is a clean and elegant showcase for our favorite southern hemisphere hop - GALAXY! Galaxy is an extraordinarily unique and distinctive hop, and presented here it offers flavors of ripe pineapple, lemon-lime, and orange sorbet. A light body and fluffy mouthfeel make this beer such a pleasure to drink. We love the Bright series for its individualism as it allows the pure character of the hop to shine, foregoing the hop compound biotransformation that contributes depth, complexity, and originality to our core Tree House IPA’s. With this beer you get pure Galaxy candy, and what a sweet treat it is!
