This way or that way

This is the last treatment Bodine Center For Radiation Therapy for this week The staff, Renee, Jasmine, Rose, and Dave think my eyes are improved. I agree. Perhaps on Friday next week, I can convince Bhavna to celebrate with lunch at MilkBoy.

Today's treatment session at the Bodine Center For Radiation Therapy was easier than yesterday's session. I felt less panic. Bhavna and I agreed it would be best to take some Xanax in the car about 30 minutes before we arrived. I was seen almost right away, and treatment lasted only five minutes. Yay!

The staff and doctor see improvements in both eyes.

Now I am looking across 11th Street at the Wrap Shack Bar and thinking that next week Friday, after my last treatment, I'll see the inside of the Wrap Shack.

Today's radiotherapy treatment for my Graves Eye Disease at the Bodine Center For Radiation Therapy is over.

I lay in the same position on a bed below a radiotherapy machine for the radiotherapy treatment. A tight, form-fitting face mask was gently placed over my head and neck and fixed to where my head rested. The face mask was custom-made for the shape of my head and face during an earlier visit. The purpose of the mask is to hold my head and neck still and in exactly the right position during treatment. The treatment took up to 30 minutes and was not painful, but I had two panic attacks during my first treatment. It took three doses of Xanax to calm me down enough to make it through the procedure.

I had not expected panic attacks. The mask, combined with my stuffy nose and postnasal drip from Spring allergies, made me feel as though I was drowning.

Now for a doctor's visit to see how things are progressing.
