World Water Day

World Water Day is an annual United Nations event, started in 1993, focusing on the importance of water. I attended a free event at the Watershed Institute to celebrate World Water Day. There were games for kids and explorations in the labs. I did not participate in any of the outdoor water-themed arts and crafts, but I did walk along the nearby trail and explored some vernal pools. Ar the Water Bar, I tried a sample of different small cups filled with drinking water from local towns and wells and voted on which one I thought tasted the best. It was a surprise to me that I prefered the local municipal water. I learned about the importance of protecting the local waterways and the various actions I can take to keep our water clean, safe and healthy.

Fog Out

It's drab and dreary outside right now. The weather reminds me of the drab grey days we had even in mid-March. I'm looking forward to some beach weather.

I captured this photograph while having breakfast muffin and a cappuccino at Sakrid Coffee Roasters in Princeton. There was a soft drizzle, and a fine mist hung. I focused the camera on catching the woman who was crossing the street. A truck pulled up and parked on the corner at about the same time that a woman sat down facing the window.

I think the photograph captures the mood I was in that morning.
