The kids took me out for lunch at The Dandelion in Philadelphia. It’s a British style pub which we visited earlier this year for afternoon tea. I had an English Breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, baked beans, mushrooms and black pudding. Shaan and Kiran had French Toast and pan cakes.
I had expected that we would walk around Philadelphia for a bit afterward but it started raining so we aborted the trip and drove home.
Bhavna wanted to cheer me up. I’ve had a challenging week with my eyes.
She suggested that we eat lunch at Brick Farm Tavern and sample the latest craft ale from Troon Brewing. We dined on the patio for the first time. The weather was perfect. I had a caesar salad and the delicious home cut fries. Bhavna had the falafel plate. We both enjoyed our late lunch before walking over the tasting room at the Sourland Mountain Spirits.
By the time my consult with the optical surgeon at Wills Eye was complete, my blood glucose was very low, and I was hungry. I had always wanted to visit the famous Reading Terminal Market. It was just a few blocks from where we parked so I convinced Bhavna to try a grilled cheese sandwich at Valley Sheperd Meltkraft Grilled Cheese. We decided to split an “Avenue D” grilled cheese sandwich. We ate in the car.
