Isolation Photo Project, Day 79: Blackened Catfish

I made Blackened Catfish for dinner.

Bhavna bought some catfish this weekend. Today she decided that I was making catfish for my dinner. I decided that I wanted Blackened Catfish but didn't know how to make it. Google provided a few recipes, but ultimately, I used a spice mix that Bhavna had made to use with making her gumbo. She said it had most of the main spices used the spice mix in the blackened catfish recipes I had found. I think it worked out well.

I drove into Hopewell intending to capture some images for today's post, but after seeing how well the Blackened Catfish turned out, I opted to use this image for today's post. I will use the photos I captured in Hopewell Township for another post on Fuji Kodak Portra 400 film simulation versus DxO Color Efx Pro 4 Kodak Portra 400 preset.

Side note. After reading this Rod's "The Last Ninja" blog post and Anil's "My desert Island camera" blog post about Nikon's FM3A, I have serious GAS. I want one!

Submitted as part of the 100DaysToOffload project.

Back Porch Cocktail

Now that outdoor activity, including hiking in the woods and forests, is verboten, I have only one way left to deal with my anxiety and this prison that is now my home1.

  • 1 1/2oz Sourland Mountain Spirits Gin
  • 3/4oz. Lillet Blanc
  • 3/4oz. fresh lime juice
  • 4 mint leaves

Place all ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass with sugar in the raw rim. Garnish with a mint sprig.
