Bhavna and I drove to Colts Neck to pick up the three four-packs of beer I ordered from Source Farmhouse Brewing earlier this week. The Colts Neck Stillhouse is on the same property. On previous trips, we noticed the sign for Muckleyeye gin. This trip, we stopped in to sample the spirits and cocktails.
We bought and shared 1 oz samples of vodka, gin, rum, bourbon, and rye whisky. The Muckleyeye vodka is buttery smooth. The gin doesn’t compare to Sourland Mountain Spirits gin, but all of the clear liquids are smooth; no bite or burn. I loved the smell of the bourbon. The taste is sweet but not cloying. I am not a fan of rye whisky.
We ordered rum cocktails and chatted for a couple of hours before it was time to go.
