  • Beer: Single Silo Series: Ultra Bru-1 IPA – Imperial / Double New England
  • Brewery: Source Brewing, Colts Neck, NJ

According to the brewer:

This beautiful, golden-yellow hued brew is featuring a newer US hop varietal called BRU-1 that was developed in the Yakima Valley and is known for its bright, floral characteristics and unmistakable pineapple punch.

The medium body has a delicately soft mouthfeel fluffed up with flaked oats and wheat and the finish is mellow and juicy.

A hoppy beer with an extremely soft and silky-like mouthfeel is one of the main distinguishing characteristic traits of a New England IPAs compared to traditional IPAs. This soft mouthfeel brings fruity flavours to the forefront and subdues the hops’ bitterness. Can beer have a softness rating?
