Winter becomes more tolerable for me when I can avoid venturing outdoors. The comfort of staying inside, away from the biting cold and icy conditions, makes the colder months bearable. Being cocooned in the warmth of home transforms winter's harshness into a more bearable experience.

At some point, the desire to photograph something (anything) will override my dislike of the cold and I will be outside with one of my cameras. I don't ski but I have layers for outdoor activity.
It always looks lovely from the other side of the window, with a nice hot cup of cocoa!
