The signs are everywhere. The air is crisper and cooler. The leaves are less green and more yellow. The sun rises a bit later in the day and sets a little sooner. The night grows longer than the day.
But it’s not quite here yet. Some days it feels like summer. Hot and humid. Then the next it feels like I know it’s supposed to feel. Chilly.

I love the interpretation. There are indeed signs everywhere. You should have challenged your readers by asking what sign they saw in the photo. I saw autumn, day, beginnings, work (or school). Nice.

Nice photo of the yellow leaves in a frame. I'm here in Portland, Oregon. Many trees' leaves turned orange and yellow. Back in California, the weather is indecisive, still goes back and forth. I'll have 3 weeks of autumn in Portland.
