Picked up lunch at Lady And The Shallot

Lady And The Shallot

We left Philadelphia so late that Bhavna suggested that we pick up lunch. She remembered that I had a calendar entry for Lady And The Shallot, which is a vegan and gluten-free food stand in the Trenton Farmers' Market. Owners Francesca Avitto and Kate Wnek - who are engaged to be married - were super friendly and helped us choose from the menu. We ordered Rainbow Tacos and a flatbread. We were strapped for time, so we opted to take our food home.

Update: The food is delicious. I will be back to try the other menu items.

Located in the Trenton Farmers Market, this plant-based eatery is getting its food from the farms that populate the building. You don’t get more farm-to-table than this. I mean, when the people at Pineland Farms bring their fresh veggies to the market each morning, it’s literally a 3-second walk for the owners of Lady and the Shallot to pick up most of their days selections.Jeff Edelstein in the Trentonian
