macOS and UNIX sitting in a tree…..

 

I am a UNIX geek again. I have not used “real” UNIX since leaving Sarnoff in 1997. I have fun with GNU/Linux but as the those folks are happy to remind everyone, GNU/Linux is not UNIX (or GNU’s Not UNIX)

Enterprise Mac | InfoWorld | Leopard gets UNIX 03 certification | July 30, 2007 08:57 PM | By Tom YagerThanks to the efforts of Apples OS boss Kevin Van Vechten and his team, Leopard has cleared all of the hurdles required to attain UNIX 03 certification. That places Apple in elite company. Only Sun, IBM and HP are certified, so OS X turns the Big Three into the Big Four.
