LaNita, Thanks for the links. I'll check them out. My wife and I have never used electronics to "baby-sit" our kids. My wife prefers board games (I call them "bored" games) over video games because we grew up in different households. I grew up with the Atari and Commodore 64 and Apple II and Parker Brothers. She never had a computer in her house until college.

I use the iPad to engage with my kids similarly to how one would play board games. The large screen simply makes it easier to track game pieces and keep score. I'm not worried. My house is full of enough Lego and wooden blocks and puzzles to build a small fort and we have plenty of old fashioned puzzle games.
