Listened to Rio by Duran Duran

Rio by Duran Duran from embed.music.apple.com

 In the 1980s I was really into British pop, and Duran Duran were among my favourites new wave bands. Despite being a different genre of music, for me, Rio produced the same mind tripping endorphins of a Pink Floyd album.

Duran Duran was very much a 1980s band, and the Rio album was their second. Although I find every song on this album to be enjoyable if had to pick favourites mine would be “My Own Way”, “Save a Prayer” and “The Chauffeur”.

  1. Hi Khurt. So Duran Duran was way after my time, though have vaguely heard their songs in the background somewhere till recently. ? I discovered that 3 of their Rio album videos were shot in Sri Lanka, my home country. And now hungry like the wolf is one of my favourites ?? their videos and music have quite the trippy feel to them. Guess that was the 80s ?

    1. Hi. When I was in graduate school at the University of Michigan (1990s) a friend from Sri Lanka was one of my mates. He was very much an audiophile and we spent many hours on the weekend listening to music on his Hi-Fi.
