June 1st, 2011 - Too darn hot

Each year, our VP sponsors an employee mixer at the Trenton Water Front Arena. It's a chance for me to reconnect face to face with colleagues in other area of IT. Most of my meetings are via teleconference so I don't often get to see the faces of the voices. This is a chance to meet.

It would seem that each year we get the worst of the early summer weather. Most of us are so hot that we don’t even sit to watch the game. We stand around under the shaded areas near the concession stands, sipping, and talking and most likely wishing we are elsewhere.

In the past, I’ve been able to stay until the end of the game or until I run out of boomer bucks from buying cold drinks. I didn’t last that long this time.
