Isolation Photo Project, Day 108

We all had a challenging day. The air conditioning unit for the second floor failed last night. We had a difficult night sleeping in our very warm and humid bedrooms. My office space is on that floor. I spent the morning on conference calls struggling to stay focused but it was hard.

During my back to back WebEx sessions, I contacted a contractor via HomeAdvisor. Thank goodness for smartphone apps. I scheduled someone to come out and take a look at the unit at the back of the house. It’s done.

Someone will be around tomorrow morning to install a new compressor unit and coil. $5200. Yikes!

  1. Reminds me of two years ago when our AC died in the middle of July. I didn't realize how much these modern houses are NOT built for airflow when you open the windows. And I thank you for using HomeAdvisor, the sister company to the company I work for; every HomeAdvisor contact helps pay my salary.

    1. Hi Jim, we opened both sides of the house hoping to create some flow but it didn't work. I've got the HVAC fan going while the AC is off. That helps a bit but both children as just laying in bed and not moving. My wife is fortunate that she goes to the office all day. No one there but her anyway.
