How to add RSS feeds in Overcast.fm

app icon for overcast.fm

The Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Spotify, Overcast and other podcasts apps include a directory of podcasts that allow the listener to search and find the show they want. But, if you need to add a private podcast feed or a podcast that hasn’t submitted their feed to Apple, Google, or Spotify for indexing or are still waiting to be indexed, you’ll need to do it yourself. This was the case with the CREATE.PHOTOGRAPHY podcast, a new podcast focused on the creative side of photography. The podcast was not available in Overcast.fm, my podcast app of choice. Created by Marco Arment, Overcast is a very capable app and it was easy to add the podcast via the RSS feed.

  • Launch Overcast
  • Click the “+” symbol in the upper-right hand corner.
  • Click “Add URL” in the upper-right-hand corner.
  • Paste in the podcast’s RSS feed.
