A colleague is looking to upgrade from his compact camera to something that allows more creative control. We got to talking about the lens and I tried my best to explain the depth of field (DOF). After stumbling around for a while I decided it was just easier to show him. Indeed, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words (or a few hundred).
