My wife, who has since succumbed to the disastrous complications of this insidious disease, was advised by more than one endocrinologist, that when having a craving for something, usually ice cream, to check your bg. It usually meant you're going low or under stress. To prevent a "binge", she was advised to have a small "scoop", eat slow, and savor it. Then to get back on the wagon and try to be "tight". She always tried to follow that advice. Considering that she lived ten to twenty years longer than the initial estimates, I'd say she did good. It's tough to criticize any diabetic. They are carrying a heavy "load" that's going to kill them. And, while everyone has theories, no one "knows" for sure what's what. My heart and prayers go out to those still in the fight.
