Blog readership is dropping

My blog readership has been falling for several years. It was even lower in 2018. I am not sure if the cause is my gradual shift away from "how-to" style posts to more of a focus on photo blogging. Perhaps it's time to return to a weekly schedule of one opinion posts, one technical post and one photography post. Perhaps I can remove the beer check-ins.

I summarized the JetPack Annual Reports for Island in the Net from 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Automattic did not release a report for 2016 and 2017. Pity. However, I used information in my WordPress dashboard to get at some of the information.

  1. I like the idea of a schedule of three posts from different areas of expertise. Also think it’s a good idea to drop beer check-ins. I find myself scrolling through them and they distract from the wealth of information that you have to offer.

    1. But ... I actually carry my camera and style the majority of images I use for my craft ale checkins. 🙂

Is no one else on the InterWeb into craft ale (the word beer does not do craft ale justice).

I'm sad. It could be daily photos of cats. I know one person who participates in a weekly photo challenge. Every single entry is about her two dogs.

    1. I'm just seeing your comments after seeing if my webmention had come through. I saw them showing up on webmention.io. Not actual main feed, I didn't mean to write. Your new post with separate feeds is what I was thinking about but failed to clarify in my first comment.

  2. I am co hosting a new weekly photo challenge with another blogger in the New Year that might widen your readership thereby increasing your stats, Khürt.
