I removed the snake oil statement. It didn't feel quite right. The way ideas come into my head is sometimes "messy", That's why I used the word inchoate in the website description. 🙂

I don't think we'll see the sort of product Apple hoped to make for a very long time. Until someone finds a way around the laws of physics, wires will be with us for a very long time.

My favourite comment from the iFixIt article: https://ifixit.org/blog/14883/what-finally-killed-airpower/#comment-181218

You can not mix magnets and electromagnetic fields so easy, specially if they are using the magnetic field for induction. I did industrial solutions (design) more than 15years ago.. there is a whole manufacturing line in automotive industry (glaesernemanufactur.de) using induction to power all computers and chargers for tools in the hall. The huge field is even ‚driven‘ thru the building like an airports transport system .. even the aircondition system is going thru this field.. works very well but persons with lifesaving electric devices are not allowed to enter that part of the building. Which is a total nogo for an costumer product. Its nice watching that even apple has to work hard on a vision and sometimes has to make a step backwards. They will have learned a lesson and grow from there.
