Sometimes, you may come across photographs on this platform that were taken using Canon equipment. Two years ago, when my Nikon camera broke, and I hadn't yet purchased my Fuji replacement, I borrowed a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM from Bhavna's best friend, Ami. Ami's father, Kunj Trivedi, is a retired international businessman and a respected nature photographer who divides his time between Madagascar and his homeland of India. He had recently acquired new camera gear and generously passed his older equipment to Ami. Although Ami is not interested in photography, she insisted I keep her dad's camera until she needs it. Inspired by Ami's father, I have used her father’s Canon gear to capture wildlife in my backyard.
A family of Blue Jays had occupied the sassafras tree where I had placed a bird feeder. The birds were photographed while they fed themselves at the bird feeder outside our kitchen window. Blue Jays are common songbirds known for their perky crest and blue, white, and black plumage. They have noisy calls and exhibit intelligence and tight family bonds. They also played a role in spreading oak trees after the last glacial period due to their fondness for acorns.
I would love to be on a safari with all my equipment. Dipan, my brother-in-law, has ancestral roots in Kenya, and his family still has relatives residing there. Dipan's father recently expressed his intention to visit their family in Kenya and proposed that we join them on a safari adventure. As a child, I immersed myself in the captivating tales of Africa found in the pages of National Geographic. The prospect of venturing to a different continent filled me with excitement. Apart from a distant family excursion to England many years ago, I have never travelled beyond the Caribbean and the Americas.
I had an interesting but tiring afternoon. This week, I ordered a 4-pack of craft ale from breweries across three counties in New Jersey. Today was curbside pickup day.
I drove to Conclave Brewing in Hunterdon County, Old Hights Brewing, a new brewery in Mercer County, and The Source Brewing in Colts Neck, Monmouth County. This took me four hours.
